Updates

By lindseyadkison | June 15, 2009

• On August 8 - we’ll be having our annual meeting. This year, like last year, we’ve decided to go for a family barbeque in Neptune Park. It’s going to be a BLAST!! Seriously something you don’t want to miss! Journalist/author Mark Murphy will be the guest speaker.

For adults, admission (including the yummy food) is only $20 and for kiddies 12 years old and under it’s FREE. We’re still ironing out the other details but I just wanted to give you a heads-up so you can make plans to be there!!! And you know you’ll be reminded (REPEATEDLY) but still…just wanted to get it out.

• It’s almost time again to pay club dues. It’s only $25 per family. You can go ahead and mail your check in to Malcolm Kitchens. His contact information is:

P. O. Box 21710

St. Simons Island, Ga.

638-5276

mmkitchens@bellsouth.net

• Also we’re gearing-up again for our annual scholarship. I know you understand just how important this is…if you ask me it’s the MOST important thing our club does. It’s makes HUGE difference in the life of a local student and it perpetuates the awesome AU Tradition. So if you want to go ahead and mail those in (checks should be made out to the Auburn Foundation), you can send them to scholarship chair - Tom O’Connor. His contact information is:

Fall Membership Meeting

By admin | November 18, 2007

In September 4, 2007, our Club held its annual membership meeting at the Strike Zone in Brunswick.  Approximately 60 club members gathered for the dinner meeting that included guest speakers from Auburn and a Silent Auction to raise money for our Scholarship Drive.

As our first general membership meeting of 2007, everyone enjoyed a lively social hour and barbeque dinner served by The Pit Barbeque Restaurant.  Our second annual Silent Auction offered 49 individual items valued at from $7 to $399.  We were able to raise $2400 that helped us reach our scholarship goal of $6000 for the year.
